![]() ![]() Video games is probably the only consistent thing Digimon puts out these days, especially if we compare Japan and the West. Then again, Digimon seems to like dividing up it's fan base a lot for some reason, I think it's been a while since they had a hit, especially in the west. I'm sure there's many other contributing factors though.įinalFantasyFanatic 43d ago (Edited 43d ago Digimon Survive was a very different type of game compared to previous Digimon games, I think that caused a bit of division with the fan base since it's quite dark and more of a visual novel/TBS game. I think part of it is consolidation, Disney owns almost everything, and their writers aren't doing the best job (plus plying us with constant super hero movies probably wasn't a good idea). I also agree that we had better media in the past, I feel that the 80's/90's was the height of pop culture, the 00's were also pretty good too, but we don't see anything like that these days. Yes, there are plenty of things I would like Gamefreak to do better, and yes I happened to like Palworld, but not because its a Pokemon clone, because its not, but because its a good survival game, something that I have zero interest for the mainline Pokemon games to become.
